There was no fighting in the Somali Presidential Palace and None Died As a Result of the Purported Attack
(Mogadishu, Somalia, May 25, 2010) A false report claiming that there was an attack in Villa Somalia where a dozen people were killed has been widely disseminated in the past two days.
There was no fighting or mortars landing at the Presidency and nobody died as a result.
We therefore caution respectable media to verify what they report as news and share with their audience before carrying far and wide, fabricated news that never happened.
As for the opposition’s erroneous claim that they will attack and capture the Presidency that too is a pure fantasy and won’t happen, because they have been repeating the same stuff since January 2009.
